Cultures Coming Together
Dining is more than just food, it’s a reflection of the diverse community we serve. Our campus dining program celebrates the coming together of cultures, cuisines, and traditions to create a welcoming experience for everyone.
Samford Global
In collaboration with Samford Global, we celebrate International Education Week with a vibrant series of station takeovers across our dining venues. Each day highlights a different culture through its cuisine, offering guests the chance to experience authentic, flavorful dishes from around the world. These events also serve as opportunities to educate our community on the importance of cultural appreciation, encouraging respectful celebration and deeper understanding of global traditions.
Chef James Briscione
As our Culinary Advisor, Chef Briscione brings a wealth of global culinary experience and a passion for innovation to our campus community. A Food Network personality, cookbook author, and former director at the Institute of Culinary Education, his expertise helps us craft culturally inspired menus that celebrate diversity, tradition, and creativity. Through chef demos, pop-up events, and special international features, Chef Briscione plays a key role in shaping experiences where students can explore new flavors and connect through shared meals.
Grace Klein Partners
Samford Dining partners with Grace Klein Community to fight food insecurity and reduce waste. After each meal service, surplus food is safely packaged and donated for redistribution to local families in need. This collaboration fosters a culture of compassion, sustainability, and service on campus.

OZZI: Sustainability Award 2024
Samford Dining was honored with the OZZI Sustainability Award for our commitment to reducing single-use waste through the OZZI reusable container program. By encouraging students to swap disposable to-go boxes for durable, returnable containers, we’ve significantly cut down on landfill waste. This recognition highlights our ongoing efforts to create a more sustainable, eco-conscious campus dining experience.
Innovative Dining Program
In July 2024, Samford Dining received a Bronze Award from the National Association of College & University Food Services (NACUFS) for Innovative Dining Program of the Year. The Caf’s renovation, designed in partnership with Aramark and shaped by student feedback, introduced a bold, open-concept layout with 16 unique food stations offering personalized and allergen-friendly meals. The reimagined space now serves as a vibrant social hub on campus, blending elevated dining with meaningful community connection.
Dining Facility of the Year
In June 2025, Samford Dining was awarded the Silver Medal for Dining Facility of the Year by the National Association of College and University Food Services (NACUFS), following a $10 million renovation of the Caf in 2023. The remodel emphasized fresh, made-to-order meals, quick-service options, and a welcoming space that fosters biblical fellowship and community.
